Hubble and Meteor community café, student cafes founded by students, are looking for a new floor manager for both cafes to become part of a growing company and management team.
Employment: Part-time (hours are up for negotiation)
Salary: €2500/ month (based on 38 hours a week) (start salary, growth is possible based on capabilities/motivation).
Students founded Hubble community café 8 years ago, as a student restaurant and bar at the TU/e-campus. One of the most important key morals within Hubble is that everyone is welcome. We try to facilitate this with friendly-priced coffee, drinks, meals, and our community set-up. During the day, Hubble is most comparable to a café, but when the evening starts, so does the bar atmosphere with lots of “gezelligheid” in the bar. This summer, our new café, Meteor Community Café, will open its doors, located about a 5-minute walk from Hubble.
Hubble and Meteor consists of staff, volunteers, management, and a (student—)board. All these components work together to create a wonderful community. We are a non-profit; all profit is put back into the community. We do this in many different ways. For instance, we facilitate a home for events, organize events, and sponsor initiatives.
We also facilitate catering for academic occasions and organize and host various events.
We want to create a living hotspot that connects people and stimulates student culture. We are looking for someone who can speak English (Dutch is a plus but not a necessity).
Due to growth and the opening of Meteor, we are looking for a hands-on floor manager with experience in hospitality who would like to work during the day and take care of all the daily business at an operational level. The floor manager can perform different functions. Like the ones, but not limited to, below:
The function consists of various responsibilities and tasks shared with the assistant manager and the manager of the café. Together with the board and the (assistant) manager, you are responsible for the daily business, working together in a very dynamic setting. We are looking for someone who can work without strict guidelines or protocol, while upholding the values of Hubble, Meteor, and Dutch legislation. Working hours are mainly during the day between 10:00 and 20:30, and you will be off on the weekends. Occasionally, you will be asked to work on Saturdays during big events.
Do you want to work at Hubble Community Café and Meteor Community Café as a floor manager? Send us a short motivation and your resume.
